WOOCOMMERCE GUIDE

Review manufacturer information before the product offer goes live.

CertaCart organises merchant-supplied manufacturer details and checks supported fields. The merchant still determines which rules apply, verifies the source, and reviews the final online offer.

Start with the exact product and applicable rules

The General Product Safety Regulation is a safety net for consumer products, but sector-specific Union rules may also apply. Identify the exact product, offer, target market, and source records before copying any business details into WooCommerce.

CertaCart does not decide legal scope, identify a manufacturer from a brand name, or verify that a supplied entity is correct for a product.

Review the manufacturer details used for distance sales

Article 19 of Regulation (EU) 2023/988 states that an online or other distance-sales offer must clearly and visibly indicate at least the manufacturer’s name, registered trade name or registered trade mark, plus the postal and electronic address at which the manufacturer can be contacted.

Use a reliable current source for those details. A marketplace listing, product title, logo, or copied supplier row is not independent verification.

Keep manufacturer and responsible-person roles distinct

Where the manufacturer is not established in the Union, Article 19 separately refers to the name and postal and electronic address of the responsible person. Do not replace manufacturer details with responsible-person details or assume that one entity automatically fills both roles.

CertaCart stores these supported roles separately so merchants can review and display the records they have determined are appropriate.

Reuse reviewed records without skipping product matching

With Pro, create a manufacturer profile from reviewed source data, match a deliberate set of Product IDs or SKUs, and inspect the field-level preview. Confirm that the same entity applies to every matched product before running the batch.

After apply, review applied, skipped, missing, and conflicting outcomes. Conflict-safe Undo is limited to supported profile changes while the operation snapshot is retained.

Verify the actual WooCommerce storefront

Check the live product offer in the active theme on desktop and mobile. Confirm that manufacturer details remain readable, clear, current, and associated with the correct product, and that the selected automatic placement, dynamic block, or shortcode appears as intended.

A clean CertaCart task or scan does not validate truth, translation, product safety, legal applicability, or the final DOM. Record the human review and obtain professional advice where the legal position is unclear.
